Weekend on the BlackManta

We just got back from a short weekend dive trip on board the Black Manta. Our first time on a live aboard. And my first time diving with Sami and Aleksi. It was a pretty good trip overall. The cabin was clean and spacious and the food was good.

We arrived at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal at 6:30pm and sailed overnight to our morning dive site at the Anambas Islands on Indonesian waters. We had a total of six dives. Four on Day 1, and two on Day 2. The night dive at Pulau Aur was the best in the whole trip, followed by the last dive at Pinnacles 2.

We also dove the 7 Skies Wreck on the first day, that was rather disappointing. It was deep (we went down to about 38m) and there was not very much to see. It was pretty like most wrecks, but we spent most of our time hanging on to the rope because of the current during decent and ascent.

Diving, eating, sleeping and reading was all we did the whole weekend. Oh it's really nice to lie on the deck watching the beautiful sunset and starry sky. Simply awesome.

We'd love to do this again. Maybe with a bigger group, so there is no need to make small talk with strangers (I was feeling rather anti-social), and no one was particularly 'entertaining' on board.
